Starting all over again

Starting all over again comes out of the experience of the inner city in England, where Christianity has been practically dead for many years.

Here, Christianity is starting again, involving a new lifestyle and a new understanding of mission. John Vincent in his book 'STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN' looks at the hints of Jesus in these new beginnings, with their reminders of the experiences of the first disciples.

Why must we start again?

examines the background to the problem, under the following headings:
  1. Because Christ's live is in the people of the city , and we have turned away
  2. Because blood runs in the streets, and it is not ours
  3. Because cities everywhere clamour with questions, and our attitudes make things worse
  4. Because we have jumped on every new band wagon, and never asked if the gospel had one
  5. Because we are jealous of others' theologies but will not forge our own
  6. Because we try to heal the world, and cannot heal ourselves
