Who you are is where you are
Jesus went into the synagogue at Nazareth and stood to read the scripture from the prophet Isaiah:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me
He has anointed me to preach the Good News to the poor,
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free the oppressed,
To announce the year when the Lord will save his people!
Jesus rolled up the script, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. All the people were watching to see what he would do next, and he began to speak to them. 'This scripture has become true today as you heard me read it.'
(from Luke 4 16-22)

We find it impossible to separate the 'essence' of a person from his 'actions'. 'God is where Jesus is, and .. Jesus is what he is doing in the place where he stands alongside men'
'the Christian is first and foremost a human being.. who eats, lives, loves, and creates significance in exactly the same way as every other ...' But is is also important to stress that Christians are Jesus-people, living a 'radically different kind of humanism and humanity represented and presented in Jesus.'
