Devon/Dorset Holiday

Shute Barton & Lyme Regis, 12 Jul 2014

The gatehouse to Shute Barton - a National Trust property that is mainly a holiday cottage and closed to the

public except for guided tours four days a year. But this wasn't one of them

The church next to Shute Barton Hall

contains monuments to the Pole familuy

The Poles or de la Poles bought the estate in the 18th century.

A rather repetitive window commemorating another of the Poles

And doubtless a Pole organ too

Anne was the widow of a grandson of a Pole

Another picture of the gate house

After lunch we went into Lyme Regis by car

The beach was fairly full
