Devon/Dorset Holiday

Beer, 16 Jul 2014

We could just about make out the beach as the path came down towards Beer

though I think it is clearer in the photos than it really was

The cliffs were still in cloud

I wasn't to get a beer at Beer though we did walk past the Anchor Inn

and there is a monument to Scottish artist Hamilton Macallum (1841-96) who had a studio and died in Beer
He seems to have particularly liked painting boats and fishermen

 The beach at Beer

The cloud was perhaps lifting slightly

And we could see the horizon

and now the cliffs, and some cloud

The cloud cleared while we ate our sandwiches looking over thte beach
