Circle the City: Christian Aid Sponsored Walk

City of London, Sunday 17 May, 2009

The walk led past the monument to the founder and first governor of Australia, Admiral Arthur Phillip, and past Amen Court

Through the yard of Stationers' Hall

to our first Wren church, St Martin within Ludgate

then our second, St Brides, Fleet St. One woman walked with a collecting box on her head

St Brides was one of several places with children's activities, including face painting

And of course is the jourrnalists' church, commemorating many from the trade - inclduing photographer Bert Hardy

Flags helped show the way

Linda continues on route - though here the directions sent us the wrong way

But once we realised it was easy to get back on track, and after St Andrews by the Wardrobe we were off to the Millenium Bridge, crossing it to Southwark
